The deck is pretty simple in nature. Almost every creature in this deck either can't be countered, has shroud, or protection from blue. The shroud aspect is useful against other decks, like casual RDW and any deck using removal. One of the real champions of the deck is Blurred Mongoose who, short of WOG or DOJ, will not leave play once he hits the table. The only way to stop him from hitting the table is Mindbreak Trap.

Broken

Topsy Turvy + Vedalken Mastermind

Play Vedalken Master Mind, Play Topsy Turvy, on their turn bounce it on their end step, correct order is replaced, become your turn again. Ultimate lock down.

50 cents a card, and you win any casual match basically, and don't worry i will not be getting it. I wouldn't had ruined the surprise if i was.

Input on My Jund Build

Just wanted everyone to take a stab at my Jund build. I decided for keeping the Rootbound at 4 and Raging Ravine at 3 because I like to at least have the option to place the Rootbound in untapped and I don't have the mana open to swin more than twice with Raging a match, at most. Most of my land setup is made to compensate for my lack of the Verdants. The Oran-Rief is a new addition to boost my creatures. And please do not post anything about a lack of Maelstrom Pulses : )

Mono G or g G/W Eldrazi

I'll let Alex clarify his changes here but Alex is considering modifying good, old Eldrazi Green with White in order to add removal and Stirring Wildwoods for reach, along with Sunpetal Groves for the dual mana. I wanted to discuss the pros and cons of the changes.

Pros:
1) White removal spells
2) Reach manland

Cons:
1) Slower beginning turns
2) Higher chance of mulligans
3) Loss of a few elf slots
4) Loss of basic lands

Howl of the Night Pack becomes near useless as less forests will be out (forget if Alex still plays it). I foresee the opening turns being much slower, especially in a one or no forest hand. Any other input guys?

Deck 102

Last night I couldn't get to sleep and I kept thinking to myself;

"man, how can I get Energy Field to work?"
"Keenen has that card that does not let you discard cards, but what would I donate it to them, and turn this into some weird 5 card combo that will never work?"

So after bashing my head against my pillow for like 20 min, i decided to read what Keene's card did exactly, and ironically enough that card turned out to have a name.

Wheel of Sun and Moon "Enchant Player" ... never thought I would be so excited to hear those words, because that means i can just target the other player and i never need to donate it over to them.

"This combo could actually work, man reading is tech."

Card vs. Card: Round #1

Okay, we all dispute which cards are better in all cases but to start a good weekly or so debate lets pit an alpha series favorite versus a Worldwake upstart. They both cost only G, are elves, and have mana abilities. If you haven't guessed yet I'm talking about Llanowar Elf and Arbor Elf. I thought a bit about it earlier and Llanowar shines against land destruction but Arbor Elf is great with land enchantments, such as Elvish Guidance or Living Terrain. Do you guys agree or is Llany still the best out there?

    3 [NE] Parallax Tide
    2 [UD] Opalescence

This is known as an Enduring Ideal deck. The deck's purpose is to stall out until you can safely play Enduring Ideal. Once this is done you can have a lock on the game. Form of the Dragon gives you the ability to burn a creature or opponent for 5 damage at your upkeep. In addition, creatures without flying can't attack you and at the beginning of each end step, no matter what your life is at, you're now at 5. Which seals the deal. 1st Enduring Ideal effect gets you Form of the Dragon, second at your next upkeep gets you Opalescence. You're opponent just took 12 that turn. Its a deck with a severely casual build, but at the time of its creation in extended it was a surprisingly powerful combo deck. Some versions the deck run Isochron Scepter to get around the draw back of the epic ability. Enjoy

Psychographic Profiles for the game

I seem to be all three of the main name groups in Magic. I'm a Timmy when I play green, white or red because I usually put too many massive high cost creatures into my deck in order to swing for overkill or block any creatures they can throw at me. I turn into Johnny for black and blue, as I always try to ramp into combos involving Bloodchief Ascension, Hellcarver Demon, Sphinx Ambassador, or the such. Multicolor brings the Spike out of me, as I'm willing to throw out all of my usual thoughts in order to win. I run Jund more for the multicolor Spike push in all three of my favorite colors than for its actual win potential, but winning helps : ) So, now that my rant is done, what do you guys see yourself as?

M11 Spoilers

So far, so little with the spoiler list but my interest is piqued for M11. Obi Wan looks to have more vampires and more merfolk if he wants to get that deck into standard mode. Green has its big beasties as usual for Alex and white has some new angels and soldiers... how unexpected ; ) Red has more dragons so I'm happy. Luke, you and I are just awaiting October to remove our Jund Decks and hoping M11 has new cards to make it crazier until we need to grudgingly have it leave Standard. In addition we should maybe add a link to the spoiler list for easy access and discussion.

My top three are;

1) Arcanis the Omnipotent; Pure Awesome, epic draw effect + a pokemon like escape rope
2) Akroma, Angel of Fury, Protection, Epic, Trample, flying.... just pure fury

Wanted to use MWS to make a deck but can't figure out how to put it in here so I'll input it manually. It's artifact creatures only (except for a certain artificier). It takes ideas from raffinity and esper and I kinda think it'd be funny to run.

Lands:
4 Seat of Synod
4 Ancient Den
4 Mishra's Workshop
4Great Furnace
4Vault of Whispers

Creatures:
4 Teeka's Dragon
4 Horrible Hordes
4 Etherium Sculptor
4 Mycosynth Golem
4 Master of Etherium
3 Mishra, Artificier Prodigy

Spells:
4 Lure
4 Rapid Fire
4 Assert Authority
3 Cloud Key

Planeswalkers:
2 Tezzeret the Seeker

A few win conditions but essentially rampage is the basic killer in combo with lure. Mishra by himself is fun but with Tezzeret tutoring for it the artifacts will build up quickly : )

Deck 003

Akroma, Angel of Wrath 2

Serra Angel 2
Transcendent Master 3
Serra Avenger 4
Wall of Omens 4
Knight of the Holy Nimbus 4

Everflowing Chalice 3

Mana Tithe 4
Dawn Charm 4

Oblivion Ring 4
Path to Exile 4

Plains 22

A angelic theme deck for below 50 dollars. This is about the tenth version in a series of lowering the price, and the deck was originally Red/White Angels which was kinda awesome.

FNM recap...

The deck I used went 2-2 at fnm, this was that deck...

Bitbast 2
Chandra 2
Consuming vapors 3
Bloodbraid elf 4
Vengevine 4
Maelstrom 3
Sprouting 3
great stable stag 3
terminate 2
putrid leech 4
noble 4
inquisition 4

savage 4
verdant 4
rootbound 3
dragonskull 2
swamp 3
forest 3
mountain 2

sideboard
4 naturalize
4 ricochet
2 terminate
1 sprouting
1 swamp
3 lightning bolt

The modifications i made after words are...

bitblast 2
chandra 2
Liliana 1
Bloodbraid 4
vengevine 4
maelstrom 3
sprouting 3
great stablestag 3
terminate 4
putrid leech 4
noble 4
Duress 4

Sideboard
Natrualize 4
Ricochet 4
mind rot 3 (will be switching for blightening once i get them :D )
lightning bolt 4

Lessons I have learned.

Duress is better than inquisition, all the decks where i need to worry about enchantment removal, or light tiny creature removal has white in it. So I should not be main boarding a card that will only help me against a specific card in one color. Duress is more of a main board card. I will sideboard naturalizes to deal with them, and decks that use enchantments.

Consuming vapors is situational, in the situations where it is useful is u/w control, and it is super useful there, although it is not a mainboard card. I may put in three, into the sideboard for versing that deck. I haven't decided on that yet though, I need to test it more.

I put in a Liliana main board just like the great stable stags, because it is really useful against a large amount of current decks.

Land base was fantastic, I only had trouble 1 out of 12 games, and even than it was my own play mistake, somewhat.

So tell me what you think about the changes.

Tell me what you think

*edit*

By the way, some how I never managed to get Chandra into my hand, even once during any game... like wtf...

General Deck Tech

Ideas for Jund:
1) Vithian Renegades in sideboard. Easy 3/2 out of cascade with artifact destruction to take out Esper and any other artifacts.
2) Amulet of Vigor makes manlands and other nonbasics come in untapped. Works for all decks running nonbasics, not just Jund.

Add new ideas or discuss your own decks. Tried to think of ideas for Eldrazi Green and Naya but couldn't think of anything new.

My EDH General Pick

Hey guys. In the spirit of our EDH competition I'm announcing my general as Scion of the Ur-Dragon. He was an easy choice for me with all of the the old Dragon creatures I have and with my username. Also, I think we should set up a list of banned cards. A few possibilities would include Pithing Needles or Word of Naught. We don't need an entire deck to be shut down because it's general can't even hit the field : ) . Hope the rest of you are having a fun time working on your deck.

Can't think of anything else yet but keep looking for good sites.

The beginnings of a Counterburn Standard deck.

I'm not 100% on the FOF Metagame, but I figure a counterburn deck could make trouble for Conscription and maybe hold off Jund long enough.

2 Essence Scatter
2 Dispel
3 Ponder

4 Burst Lightning
2 Fireball

CREATURES (6):

3 Raging Goblin
3 Sage Owl
